Measurements:

• Real Red: 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”, scrap for holly berries and jingle bells
• Basic White: 3 1/8” x 4 ¼”; scrap for sentiment
• Reindeer Fun DSP: red jingle bells - 4” x 5 ¼”; Reindeer fun 3” x 4”
• Garden Green and Old Olive – scrap for holly leaves

 

Instructions:

1. Fold the Real Red cardstock on the score line to create the card base.
2. Adhere the red jingle bell DSP pattern to the card front.
3. Adhere the Basic White rectangle to the center left of the card front. Line up the left side edge with the left edge of the red DSP.
4. Adhere the reindeer fun DSP pattern to the Basic White. Line up the left edge to the left edge of the DSP as shown.
5. Ink only the “Merry” half of the “Merry Christmas” stamp using Real Red ink. Stamp onto the Basic White scrap.
6. Clean the stamp well. Ink only the “Christmas” half of the “Merry Christmas” stamp using Real Red ink. Stamp underneath the “Merry”.
7. Cut out the sentiment with the 2^nd smallest banner die from Stylish Shapes dies and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
8. Die cut out a holly leaf from both the Garden Green and the Old Olive cardstock. Die cut out berries and 2 jingle bells using Real Red cardstock.
9. Layer the holly leaves and berries and adhere together. Add a piece of Gold thread beneath and hanging down for the jingle bells before adhering to the card front. With Stampin’ Dimensionals.
10. Tuck the sentiment in between the holly leaves and adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
11. Adhere the jingle bells on top of the gold thread with Stampin’ Dimensionals as shown.
12. Tie a small gold bow and use a mini glue dot to adhere to the jingle bell.

What do you do when struggling With card designs?

I had a difficult time with this week's Paper Craft Crew Challenge. I love the sketch but was at a loss where to begin. Have you had days like this too? 

What I love about these weekly challenges is that they help me look at my supplies in a new way. First I thought about using designer series paper for the squares but didn't really have any patterns that caught my eye. 

Then I thought - what about a phrase? 

I dug through my stash and spotted the Peaceful Season stamp set. Right away I thought about one of the dies in the die pack!

1. Fold Basic Beige card base in half. Use bone folder to flatten card base. Emboss 5 ¼” x 4” Basic Beige card stock with the Eyelet 3D embossing folder.  Adhere to the card front.  
2. Die cut lace edged circle from white eyelet DSP with a 3 ¼” circle from the Spotlight on Nature Dies. Trim off a sliver of the die cut. Adhere to left side of card front. Refer to picture for placement.
3. Stamp sentiment on a scrap of Basic White card stock with Tuxedo Black ink. Die cut sentiment using an appropriate shape from the Something Fancy dies.
4. Stamp vase image on a scrap of Basic Beige “linen look” DSP with black ink. Die cut with corresponding shape from the County Flowers dies.  Stamp flowers on a scrap of Basic White card stock with black ink and die cut with corresponding shape from the Country Flowers dies. Color flowers with Stampin’ Blends. Adhere sentiment, vase and flowers to card front with Dimensionals. Add Brushed Brass Butterflies to card front. Create a bow from the Basic Beige ribbon and adhere to card front.
5. Stamp inside of card as desired.

Measurements: 

• Early Espresso:  8 1/2” x 5 1/2”
• Basic White: 3 ¾” x 5”
• Sweet Days of Autumn print   4” x 4”
• Sweet Days of Autumn print: 4” x 2”
• Autumn to Remember Two Tone” 4” x 2”
• Scrap of Crushed Curry cardstock to die cut label      

Instructions:

1. Use copper Metallic Enamel Effects to add veins to 3 Woven Golden leaves. Set aside to dry while you create the card
2. Score 8 ½ x 5 ½ piece of Basic White card in half and fold forming card base
3. Adhere the 4” x 2” piece of Sweet Days of Autumn designer paper to top of card front leaving an even border top and sides
4. Adhere the 4” x 4” piece of Sweet Days of Autumn designer paper to card front overlapping the piece from step so that you have an even border on all 4 sides of the card front
5. Tear the edges of the Autumn To Remember Two Tone cardstock revealing the white center.
6. Add torn piece to card front as seen in photo above
7. Stamp greeting using Early Espresso Ink on a scrap of Crushed Curry cardstock
8. Die cut greeting using Peaceful Season banner die
9. Cut length of Linen thread and great double bow
10. Layer leaves under die cut banner greeting (I used sticky tape)
11. Add sticky tape over leaves removing backing and adhering to torn Autumn to Remember piece as seen in photo
12. Add Linen thread bow
13. Add greeting and or handwritten message to the 3 ¾” x 5” piece of Basic White cardstock
14. Add piece from step 13 to inside of card
