Project 52

For today's post I thought I would highlight My Digital Studio and a Project 52 creation. The photos were taken at Stampin' Up!s Manager's Reception, a free evening of entertainment and fun for leaders in the company. This year we were entertained by some amazing Chinese Acrobats - such flexibility!

My Digital Studio

I can't believe how much time I save using My Digital Studio to scrapbook my photos and memories. When I was at Stampin' Up!s Leadership conference in San Antonio, TX a couple of weeks ago, I took an extra day to do some sightseeing. I visited the Alamo, walked the Riverwalk, dined in some fabulous restaurants and did some souvenir shopping.

When I was at the Alamo I was struck by the beautiful buildings I toured and so of course I snapped some photos! Here's a page I created - simple in nature but a great memory to look back on some day:

 

I created the page using:

- Kraft Distressed designer series paper (background)

- Extreme Elements brush stamp set (that's what we call stamp sets in the digi world)

- Notes & Details brush stamp set

- In a Word brush stamp set

- my favorite building photos with a Crumb Cake mat

Scrapbook Map

I love to scrapbook; actually it was how I got started paper crafting 12 years ago, did you know that? But over time I gravitated to card making because it was so much easier, so economical (have you seen the prices of cards in the stores lately!), and made me feel good when someone ooh's and ahh's over a card they received in the mail from me.

As I think back over the past couple of years and why I didn't scrap as many pages as I had hoped I realized that the main reason I slowed down on scrapbooking was the time it took to plan out my pages.

So this is the year of the Scrapbook Maps! I know when I make cards it really helps to have a card map for inspiration so I decided to dust off some of my yellowing catalogs and magazines and see about using ideas as maps for my own pages.

Here's a scrapbook map I created from a layout I saw yesterday:

 

 And here's a My Digital Studio page I created using the map above, with my own little twist of course!

My Digital Studio Project 52

Isn't it amazing that Stampin' Up! announces new downloads for My Digital Studio every Tuesday? Recently I saw a download that fit perfectly with my monthly fun nights out with my son. The digital brush stamp set is called Life is Hockey - and for us that sums it up perfectly!

My son and I got a partial pack of game tickets to the Carolina Hurricanes hockey games this season. Being that we come from Canada, hockey is in our blood. In the past few years we have tried to get to at least one or two games each season but this year, thanks to Stampin' Up!, I could get us a partial pack of several games!

Project 52 - Week 22

A few weeks ago I earned an all expenses paid trip to my "upline's" home in PA. We were treated like queens and one of the exciting moments was when that handsome man in brown drove up and dropped off three very large boxes. The new products had arrived - so of course I had to snap some photos and create a page for Project 52!!

We were like kids at Christmas time - ripping open the boxes and "oohhh-ing" and "ahhhh-ing" over all the new products. Then off we went to create to our heart's content!

Project 52 - Week 21

Now that I am on vacation and with Christmas only a few days away I thought I would play a bit with My Digital Studio and some photos I have stored away. I haven't posted a Project 52 page in quite a while so thought I would share "Week 21" with you today.

These photos were taken on Thanksgiving Day and I am so glad I asked a good friend to take some photos of my son and I as I am usually behind my camera. I know that I will treasure these photos in years to come!

 

Remember that Project 52 is all about simple pages that focus on those small moments in your year. I chose to highlight events in my year that would be forgotten if not photographed and featured on a page.

Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit
