My Digital Studio Card: Simple Friendship

One of my goals this summer is to spend more time using My Digital Studio and to actually get some projects printed to show you at my classes and club meetings. Every time I make something to show everyone says - wow this project looks so real. And it does! 

Today I am going to give you a sneak peek at a card I have been working on in my free time this past week. I used the Simple Friendship brush stamp set, some punches, some Simple Snapshots designer series paper and some Pearl embellshments to create:

 

I saw a similar layout on a "real" card at that demonstrator-only Art Gallery I was telling you about last week and loved the layout so much I decided to use it as a map for my digital card. 

I am currently working on the inside of the card using more sets and paper - which is one of the reasons I love to design cards digitally - you can design all four sides of the card which makes each card so cool and different!

Project 52

Up, Up & Away!

I hate to admit this but today I am going to show you a card using a stamp set I have not used before - Up, Up & Away has been on my stamp set shelf for several months gathering dust, eek. It's not that it is not a super cute set, it just got lost behind some of my other stamps sets so it was high time it saw the light of day!

And I have the perfect occasion to celebrate too - my stepdaughter, Stacy, has a birthday coming up and so of course I want to mail her a card to honor the day she was born!

Here's my Up, Up & Away card:

 

Fun colors, right? I used the Summer Smooches designer series paper, and Layered Labels stamp set, along with the Designer Frames Folders and the Apothecary Accents Framelits for the phrase. This card was quick and easy to create and makes a fun, bright birthday card that I know Stacy will love.

I got this card layout idea from a card made by another demonstrator - I took her idea, changed up the stamp sets and presto, my own card idea! I am so grateful that Stampin' Up! has a demonstrator-only Art Gallery that we can draw inspiration from for our own projects.

Love & Sympathy

If I had my choice for card making it would be that I would never have to make a sympathy card. But that's not reality and so today I am sharing a Love & Sympathy card that I made for a close friend who lost not one, but two dear family members this past week. 

The image on the Love & Sympathy card can be used for a variety of occasions and has a beautiful watercolor look when inked using pads or markers. I love the Fancy Fan embossing folder that makes a subtle but striking background for those cards that need something beyond plain. And the Comfort Cafe paper layer adds a pop of color and interest that the card also seemed to need.

Card Map: Christmas Style

Yesterday I showed you a Card Map and a first day of Summer card I created using that map. Well today I have another idea to share - this time a Christmas Card!

Happy First Day of Summer!

Happy First Day of Summer...and my favorite season of the year! I love seeing flowers grow, green grass, birds nesting and butterflies visiting my Butterfly Bush. So I decided to create a special card to celebrate spring, using a Card Map that I recently saw. 

I recreated the card map using My Digital Studio:

 

And here's my card, using Comfort Cafe designer series paper, the Papillon Potpourri stamp set, and the Elegant Butterfly punch!

 

I have to confess that the Papillon Potpourri stamp set is going to be one of my new favorites from the Annual Catalog especially since I don't have to cut out the butterflies - I can punch them out instead making card making a breeze!

Father's Day Card, part four

Today I have a fourth Father's Day Card to share with you, using another brand new and really fun stamp set!

Check out Happy Hour on page 36 of the Annual Catalog: 17 stamps in the set including a variety of phrases that make this set very versatile! This was one of my first choices from the Annual Catalog and you will see a lot of cards using this set this year.

Here's the Father's Day Card I made using Happy Hour:

I popped up the fruit piece using a small Stampin' Dimensional and then covered it with a layer of Crystal Effects so it has an interesting shiny hard coating on top. See the background layer? It's a textured impressions embossing folder called Fancy Fan.
