Stampin' Up! donates $500,000 to the Today Show Toy Drive!

Since 2005, Stampin' Up! has generously participated in the TODAY Show's Holiday Toy Drive. This year, Stampin' Up! will be donating over $500,000 worth of stamping and paper crafting products, including the new Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps (and super yummy recipes - just ask my Raleigh Techniques Club!)

In conjunction with the donation, Stampin' Up!'s Shelli Gardner made an appearance on NBC's TODAY Show on Tuesday, December 6. And if you look closely, you can see some very enthusiastic demonstrators outside the windows, lol.

My Digital Studio Calendar

I was so excited to come home from work yesterday to see a box from Stampin' Up! sitting on my front porch. At first I was quite confused because my Occasions Mini catalog preorder box had already arrived and I couldn't think what might be inside that box. Until I opened it of course and saw my Christmas present for my family!

Sundays with Sizzix: Scallop Ornament

Today I have a fun, easy to make, Scallop Ornament video tutorial. This is a great project to make with children, for children, or for your office gift exchange. You can make several in one setting and make each one unique using your punches and glimmer paper.

Scallop Ornament

Paper: Marina Mist (two pieces 4" square), Silver Glimmer paper (scrap piece approximately 3" square), 3" square piece of scrap packing card stock (from designer series paper)

Punch: Snowflake

Accessories: Big Shot, Standard Cutting pads, Scallops #2 die, 2-Way Glue pen, Glue Stick, Crop-a-dile, 9" Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta ribbon, Craft scissors

Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit

Last night I held my annual Scrapbook in an Evening class using the Christmas Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit. The class members created a complete scrapbook in two and a half hours! Perfectly Penned

If you know someone who has a birthday this month, you can use Perfectly Penned and your Holly Berry Bouquet designer series paper to make a cute birthday card!

Two days ago I showed how you can use the Beautiful Season stamp set to make a masculine birthday card. (I gave the card to one of the Kindergarten teachers at my school and he LOVED it!). Techniques Club

This weekend is the December meeting of my Techniques Club and I have a really fun set of cards planned and ready. I decided to focus on Punch Art this month - a technique I haven't shared in all the years I have had a Techniques Club.

Here's one of the cards my club members will make:

Isn't that a cute card? I used the Serene Snowflakes stamp set, some scrap designer series and plain papers and several punches. After the snowman was assembled I decided to add some bling on the torn snow edge and a Rhinestone Jewel to the flower on the hat.

Beautiful Season

Today I have a card to share with you that uses a Christmas stamp set, Beautiful Season, to make a birthday card. I love this stamp set and needed a masculine birthday card so created this card:

I decided to keep the colors muted and neutral and added just a touch of Dazzling Diamonds to the berries on the image to avoid the "Christmas look" and help lean the image to more of a birthday theme. I also chose an embossed layer that is also more masculine in flavor and used the Color Spritzer tool to add dark spots for a touch of interest.

The next time you need to create a card, why not try using a stamp set you own for an occasion different from its theme design? You just never know what you might come up with!

Techniques Club

Next week my Techniques Club is meeting and our lovely hostess requested a fun technique that she had heard about. I know this technique well and love her suggestion so decided while I am at my RAD (Remarkably Achieving Demonstrators) weekend I would play with the technique to see what I can come up with.

Here's one idea:

I love Clean & Simple cards and the way I created this one would allow you to make several in one sitting. I used two different sized punches, two embossing folders and two stamp sets. Easy peasy!

If you want to learn this technique too watch for an upcoming Online Class - once you have this timeless technique in your technique tool box you will be amazed at the beautiful cards you will be able to make. I'm RemARKable!

I am having the time of my life! In June I earned an all expenses paid trip to my upline's home in PA and her four-day weekend event is happening right now! Fourteen team mates from all over the US earned this trip and I am having a blast stamping in my pj's and catching up with old friends.

Each of us are assigned a stamping space in Jan's Stamp World room and here's what greeted me at my space:

And as much as this table looks enticing, look at all the sample ideas in the background! I have oodles of cards and 3D projects to copy - I grab one, put it on my stamping space, get everything I need to copy that card and get to it. One disadvantage? There are not enough hours in each day to create all the ideas that Jan has in Stamp Word (tough problem to have, huh!)
