Project 52 - Week 22

A few weeks ago I earned an all expenses paid trip to my "upline's" home in PA. We were treated like queens and one of the exciting moments was when that handsome man in brown drove up and dropped off three very large boxes. The new products had arrived - so of course I had to snap some photos and create a page for Project 52!!

We were like kids at Christmas time - ripping open the boxes and "oohhh-ing" and "ahhhh-ing" over all the new products. Then off we went to create to our heart's content!

Chat & Challenge Card Map

It is so nice being on vacation for a week! I haven't participated in a Chat & Challenge for months now and this week since I am home I got to participate during the daytime hours. There were five demonstrators participating and here's the map we were presented:

I haven't challenged myself with a card map for a while and it took me a few minutes to figure out what I wanted to use on my card. I spotted You are Loved on my stamping table and decided right away to use one of the images as the focal point:

You can see that I interpreted the card map in my own way and made the middle layer on the card map the top phrase layer on my card. Notice the designer series paper? Check it out when your brand new Occasions Mini catalog arrives in the mail and while you are browsing look for a new Big Shot product that helped me make the Riding Hood Red heart layer!

Word Play

Tonight I am attending a college graduation celebration for my friend's daughter and so of course I had to create a card using Word Play!This fun, versatile stamp set has twelve creative phrases for a variety of occasions throughout the year.

As I wasn't sure about college colors I decided to stay with more neutral tones for my card, this time with Very Vanilla as the card base:

The pearl and flower accents were a final touch to add a bit of interest and the arrow on the phrase is popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.

If you live in Great Britain or Canada you are enjoying a fun Boxing Day - usually with family members over the remains of your Christmas Day meal. Boxing Day has many different meanings internationally: in the United Kingdom wealthy people and homeowners would give a box containing a gift to their servants; in South Africa the day was renamed the Day of Goodwill, in many countries in Europe it is known as the Second Christmas Day and in my home country, Canada, Box Day is a fully paid national holiday.

Plant Hope

My first Stampin' Up! class of 2012 is a Birthday Card Stamp-a-Stack! This class will prepare you with a year's worth of cards - more than one per month!

Project 52 - Week 21

Now that I am on vacation and with Christmas only a few days away I thought I would play a bit with My Digital Studio and some photos I have stored away. I haven't posted a Project 52 page in quite a while so thought I would share "Week 21" with you today.

These photos were taken on Thanksgiving Day and I am so glad I asked a good friend to take some photos of my son and I as I am usually behind my camera. I know that I will treasure these photos in years to come!

 

Remember that Project 52 is all about simple pages that focus on those small moments in your year. I chose to highlight events in my year that would be forgotten if not photographed and featured on a page.

Rue Des Fleurs

What an amazing day - I had customers calling me to tell me that their Occasions and Sale-a-bration mini catalogs were in their mailboxes and they loved everything so much they had to call to let me know!

And I totally agree with them. I had a few new Occasions mini catalog products arrive a couple of weeks ago (as demonstrators we can pre-order a month in advance) and so have been creating several sample ideas to share with you.

Introducing: Rue Des Fleurs!

This unique stamp set is a set of 8 images: three phrases and five images that lend a quaint look to project ideas. This stamp set would not normally be one I would consider but when I saw one particular image I was so taken that I purchased Rue Des Fleurs on my very first order. If you are one of my lucky customers who have already received your Occasions mini, turn to pages 23-23 to see this set.

Here's just one of the cards I have created using Rue Des Fleurs:

I stamped the umbrella image using Versamark ink and then embossed with Silver embossing powder. You really need to see this card up close to see the sparkle from the embossing powder and Rhinestone jewels. I love this card - it is simple in design but everyone who has seen it loves it too!
