This is my personal blog. I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, and I am responsible for its content. Stampin' Up! does not endorse the use of or contents of the classes, services, or non-Stampin' Up! Products I may offer here.
Tonight my Raleigh Techniques Club meets and this month's hostess, Kristin, requested that the club members use Mixed Bunch on one of the cards. I love this stamp set and coordinating Blossom Punch so created this card:
Can you see how I used the Adorning Accents Edgelit and Adorning Accents Embossing folder too? This card uses a lot of products to create eye-catching elements. The result is guaranteed to delight.
Do you live in the Raleigh area and would like to be a guest at our Techniques Club? Contact me at terri@nutzaboutstamping.com for all the details!
Today I have a really fun video for you to watch. Stampin' Up! had a Stamp Space Makeover Contest for their demonstrators last year. At Convention this past summer Shelli Gardner, CEO and co-founder of Stampin' Up! announced the winner. She and her family recently traveled to the winner's home in Austin, Texas to makeover her stamping space and they video taped the experience!
Here's what they did:
Take good notes and then have a look at your own stamping space. With just a little effort you, too, can end up with a beautiful, inviting and productive space.
The other day I saw a Card Map on a demonstrator art gallery and decided to give it a try. At first the map seemed quite simple:
But once I decided to use Calypso Coral as the card base and a piece of Sweet Shop designer series paper as the main layer, my plans became muddled. The Sweet Shop paper has quite a vivid pattern so I decided to keep the top layers simple. And then I got stuck. The top layer seemed so plain but it only took a few seconds until I decided that adding a Calypso Coral ribbon (using FREE ribbon through Sale-a-bration!) would be the perfect, final touch.
Here's my final product:
Do you have designer series paper at home that also has a large or bright pattern? Try my map to see what you can create.
For today's post I thought I would highlight My Digital Studio and a Project 52 creation. The photos were taken at Stampin' Up!s Manager's Reception, a free evening of entertainment and fun for leaders in the company. This year we were entertained by some amazing Chinese Acrobats - such flexibility!
Did you know you can download a free 30 day trial of My Digital Studio Express this month? This is a great way to see if you like digital paper crafting and get a sense of how easy it is to create digital projects.
To download this free trial, click here to go to my Online Store and then click on the "MDS Express Trial" button to download the trial to your desktop. And if you need support in getting started email me at terri@nutzaboutstamping.com to sign up for my FREE My Digital Studio class or contact me with questions when needed.
Are you looking for a cute, yet simple, idea for some sweet Valentine's treats? Try creating a Fancy Favor box like this one that we received from Shelli Garner (CEO & co-founder of Stampin' Up!) in January:
Is that not the cutest idea? And oh, so easy too. Want to see what was inside my box?
A small Cello bag containing two large chunks of chocolate: one white with Oreo cookie crumbles, the other dark chocolate with dried cranberries in it! These chocolates were handmade by one of the Stampin' Up! employees just for us which made me feel really special.
I hope you can see that you, too, can create something simple that really makes a statement. Contact me at terri@nutzaboutstamping.com to add theFancy Favor box to your Big Shot collection!
When I was at Stampin' Up!s Leadership Conference in San Antonio last month I participated in a Secret Sister swap with a group of demostrators. We each had to create a gift bag and inside the gift bag a series of cards and 3D project ideas. It was a lot of fun and by participating I met a new demonstrator friend who is very creative.
Here is a photo of the gift bag she created for me:
When thinking about what to show you for today's Sundays with Sizziz video tutorial I thought I would show you how she created the heart element on this beautiful gift bag.
Valentine Gift Bag Heart Element
Paper: Twitterpated designer series paper #125406, Whisper White (5 3/4" square), Red Glimmer paper (4 1/4 x 4 3/4")
Accessories: Big Shot, Platform, Standard Cutting pads, Framelits Hearts Collection #125599, Sticky Strip, Paper Snips, Snail Adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Blushing Bride 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon (two pieces approx. 8" in length)
And now for the video tutorial. Enjoy!

I am excited for my Birthday Card Stamp-a-Stack today. I had fun planning the projects everyone is going to make. Classes give me a chance to offer something different and to use some stamp sets I haven't used yet or in a long while.
Here's a sneak peek at one of the cards my class attendees will make today. I used Twitterpated designer series paper and the brand new (and FREE with a $50 product order) Outlined Occasions stamp set.
Can you figure out how I made the "faux" bow for each present? Too cute, huh!
Keep an eye on my Calendar of Events for upcoming classes. I design my classes for busy stampers who prefer to have everything designed and cut for them to stamp and assemble the day of the class. And my Stamp-a-Stack classes provide you with several occasion cards to take you through a few months of celebrations.

I bet you haven't noticed the Kraft boxes in the Occasions mini catalog (page 40). I overlooked them myself until I started seeing some of them decorated which certainly caught my eye!
For one thing Kraft boxes are a great value - four for only $2.95. They are a nice size too: 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 2 1/2, so each holds a nice quantity inside. And the neutral color is perfect for embellishments, designer series paper and other accessories. The boxes come ready to decorate and assemble and require no adhesive. And once assembled they are very sturdy and travel well.
This past weekend Gina hosted a Stampin' Up! party in her home and I decorated two Kraft boxes using different designer series paper (perfect for those scrap pieces you have laying around) and embellishments. One box I gave away as a door prize. Kristy seem quite delighted when she won this box, using the new Mixed Bunch stamp set and Blossom punch:
Inside I had created three 3x3 matching cards and envelopes using the same paper but each had a different phrase on the card front.
The second box I gave to Gina as a thank you for hosting her party. Inside Gina's box was a nice selection of ribbon pieces for her to use on her upcoming projects. Gina loves ribbon and we share an inside joke about how to use the least amount possible on our paper projects! It was fun to see Gina laugh when she opened her box to see the ribbon piled up inside.
If you and your friends love to craft - scrapbook, cards, 3D items and more - why not host your own party? Sale-a-bration is the perfect time as everyone can earn free product! Contact me for my open dates and we'll plan a fun event together.
